The tradition of the 'Viech schoadn', the return of cattle from the high alpine pasture to the low alpine pasture, has its roots in the mists of time. Since time immemorial, the cattle of the three farming communities of interest 'Morgenrast', 'Plankenhorn' and 'Pichlberg' have been driven to the Getrum alpine pasture, where they are then split up and returned to the alpine pastures further down the valley. Especially for the local farmers and herdsmen it is a very special day. Once again this year, there is the traditional cattle parade with whip-beaters, as well as the traditional barbecue, traditional sweets, live music and local accordion players. Typical South Tyrolean dances are not to be missed, thanks to the 'Villanderser Schuahplattlar' and the 'Gaudiplattlar(innen)'.
