Once again Val Gardena has been awarded as Best Skiresort in Italy during the World Ski Awards, the most prestigious award in the winter tourism sector. Located in the heart of the Dolomites with 3 ski destinations - Ortisei, Santa Cristina and Selva Val Gardena - renowned, full of charm and with excellent services, 500 km of slopes, modern ski lifts, 30 km of hiking trails and 115 km of cross-country skiing trails, Val Gardena has been defending its title since 2014.
The other illustrious destinations nominated were the Three Peaks Dolomites, Cervinia, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Courmayeur Mont Blanc, Madonna di Campiglio, Alpe di Siusi and Sestriere. The jury consisted of senior winter sports executives, tour operators, agencies, press representatives and a representation of tourists.
The award is also based on the opinion expressed by hundreds of thousands of ski fans worldwide. In total, almost one million users from over 120 countries were interviewed and gave their opinion.
Val Gardena: skiing paradise
A true reference point for all ski lovers, thanks to its connection with Dolomiti Superski, the largest ski carousel in the world, the Sellaronda, the ski tour around the Sella massif, and the nearby Alpe di Siusi.
Among the most beautiful slopes, there are 8 to try: Saslong - the World Cup downhill slope, La Longia - the longest in the Dolomites, Ciampinoi 3, together with Pilat, Cir, Bravo, Falk and Gardenissima.
