It is a typical product from Trento, which was so valued, that it was dedicated traditions and aromas: it is the Ciuìga, the delicious cured pork with turnip, Presidio Slow Food, which with their 16th anniversary from the Sagra della Ciuìga is celebrated from 31 October to 3 November in San Lorenzo in Banale, a characteristic village, not far away from Comano Terme and from the lake of Molveno, awarded by the recognition of "The Most Beautiful Italian Villages".
The Ciuìga, which dates back to the 19th century, is a poor but delicious product. It was made with small quantities of pork waste and with a large quantity of turnip. Today the recipe is different: pork-meat and small quantity of turnip. A tasty and delicious product, from a small and elongated shape, similar to conifer, which is just made in San Lorenzo in Banale.
During these three special days, you can taste traditional dishes combined with other products from Trento: wine, cured pork, potatoes, chestnuts and various liqueurs.
Folk, music and art will surround the festival.
The new Path of Ciuìga is an itinerary which starts from the fraction of Berghi trough the valleys of San Lorenzo and Dorsino. An enjoyable path to discover the historical places like: the antique Senato, the fields and the vegetable gardens and the small squares of the old cities.
