Skiing in Val di Sole: Ponte di Legno - Tonale Pass, Pejo 3000
The ski area of the Val di Sole valley includes the ski resorts of Tonale Pass and Pejo 3000. Included in the Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta, the ski area lies in the western section of Trentino and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains of this region: the wonderful Brenta Dolomites, the Ortles - Cevedale group and the Adamello - Presanella group. Thanks to its high altitude, abundant snow is guaranteed, but in any case an efficient snowmaking system ensures you will always have fun on the slopes. Here winter sport lovers will find ski runs of every level for both Alpine skiing and snowboarding, but also cross-country skiing trails, and snowshoeing and ski mountaineering routes.
The ski center Folgarida - Marilleva, connected to Madonna di Campiglio, has ski-in ski-out hotels and floodlit slopes, and it is a paradise for Alpine skiing and snowboarding lovers. Peio, surrounded by the wonderful landscape of the nature reserve of the Stilfser Joch National Park (Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio), is perfect for family holidays, whereas the Tonale Pass offers a long ski season thanks to the Presena Glacier, at an altitude of 3000 meters, and one of the longest and most beautiful slopes of the Dolomites, the Paradiso. This ski center has also a ski cross course, a snow tubing slope and two snowboard parks: the Adamello Freestyle Arena and the Snowpark Burton Progression. There are of course Nordic skiing trails and a cross-country center in Vermiglio, whereas kids have at their disposal large facilities, where they can have fun and learn how to ski, like the Cirmolino Club Val di Peio and the Biancaneve Snow Park.
More than skiing
If you'd like to try something different from traditional winter sports, the ski area of the Val di Sole valley offers beautiful ski mountaineering and snowshoeing tours in the nature reserve of the Stilfser Joch National Park. Other activities include ice skating, horse-drawn sleigh rides, Nordic Walking, dog sledding and ice climbing.
