Skiing in Arabba/Marmolada in the Dolomiti Superski

Also called the Queen of the Dolomites, the Marmolada is the highest mountain group in the Dolomites. At 3,265 metres above sea level, it towers over the Belluno area and Trentino, offering skiers and hikers the most beautiful Dolomite panorama of all. From the terrace of Punta Rocca, which can be reached by cable car from Malga Ciapela, on clear days you can admire both the Venice lagoon and the Austrian Alps.

Not far from the Marmolada, lies the small village of Arabba with its ski lifts, a true paradise for those who love nature and winter sports. Friendly and authentic hospitality is the pride of the various accommodation facilities ready to welcome you.

The Arabba/Marmolada Ski Area, part of the Dolomiti Superski ski area, boasts 60 km of slopes and 26 new-generation lifts, and is the access point for both the Skitour Sellaronda and the Skitour of the First World War.

Among the slopes of varying levels and difficulty, worth mentioning are the black slopes of Arabba and the La Bellunese slope on Marmolada, 12 km long and considered one of the most beautiful slopes in the entire Alpine arc, leading from the 3,265 metres of Punta Rocca to Malga Ciapela.

In Arabba, skiers find what they are looking for on the slopes for true connoisseurs. First of all, the 3.6 km long Fodoma with 804 metres of altitude difference, one of the most difficult black slopes in the entire Dolomiti Superski, love it or hate it. Another very beautiful black slope is the 3.3 km long Sourasass with 749 vertical metres in the Porta Vescovo area. Last but not least are the 1 km long La Burz piste and the Ornella variant, a connecting piste between the Ornella and Sourasass.

If skiing is not the priority on your holiday, the Arabba/Marmolada area offers snowshoeing in unspoilt nature, day or night skating on the ice rink, climbing icefalls with ice axes and crampons, or scenic tours on the cross-country skiing trails.
