The town of Selva di Val Gardena, in South Tyrol, from 30 November to 5 January presents "Nadel da Mont" or Mountain Christmas. There will be traditional music, culinary specialties and sporting events. The most important event will be the Christmas Market.
You can watch the opening of the advent calendar and admire the exhibition of hand-carved nativity scenes. For ski enthusiasts, the Val Gardena ski area offers wonderful slopes and breathtaking views.

Snow sculpture competition

Snow comes to life thanks to the sculpture competition in Selva di Val Gardena, where art and fantasy come together in a fascinating transformation. Now in its 28th year, this event is a true tribute to creativity, offering sculptors and artists the opportunity to give shape to extraordinary works, sculpted in a material that is as fascinating as it is challenging.
Over the course of three days, participants create spectacular sculptures that seem to come alive before the eyes of the public, in an explosion of talent and originality. The competition, which took off in the early 1990s, is now a well-established tradition, with many of the artists involved coming from the Valley and being experts in wood carving, but ready to try their hand at frozen snow.
This year, the theme chosen for the competition celebrates MUSIC, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Selva di Val Gardena music band, which will be celebrated in 2025, making this edition even more special and meaningful.
