Selva Val Gardena: ski, events and hikes

Go out of the hotel wearing your skis. That's possible in Selva Gardena, where you can try renowned slopes, the Sellaronda ski tour, whereas in summer you can enjoy long panoramic hikes and many opportunities for your free-time. 

Selva lies among the Sassolungo, Puez and Sella massifs, and it is a beloved holiday resort because of its excellent central position. In winter, it is a real ski paradise: it lies in the Sella Ronda ski carrousel and offers many km slopes on Passo Gardena, Ciampinoi and Passo Sella. And much more: ice-skating, sledge, snow-shoeing, ski mountaineering, ice climbing and winter hikes. Furthermore, ski-rental and schools and many sport facilities: ice rink, golf and pitch and putt courses, tennis courts, skateboard rink, target-shooting, billiard, bowling and squash.
There are also many international events such as the Sellaronda Skimarathon and the Snow and ice sculpture competition. 

In summer you can do easy hikes in the Puez - Odle Nature park and on the surrounding paths, or do Nordic walking in Vallelunga, in the DSV Nordic Active Park. Cyclists can choose among different itineraries: easy dirt roads or mountain paths or along the dolomite passes. Every year, the Sellaronda Bike Day is an event you shouldn't miss. 

Summer in Val Gardena also means ice-skating. Every year the important event Stars on Ice is organized, with many figure skating stars.

And if you want to discover local culture, visit the numerous churches in the area as well as the ruins of Wolkenstein Castle... then you will be ready for a romantic dinner or for a dance night!
