MTB Marathon World Championship 2026

14 February 2025

In 2026, for the sixth time, Italy will have the honour of hosting the MTB Marathon World Championships. After South Tyrol (Villabassa 2008, Selva Val Gardena 2015), Veneto (Montebelluna 2011, Auronzo di Cadore 2018) and Tuscany (Capoliveri 2021), in four years' time it will be Trentino's turn.

The MTB Marathon World Championship in 2026 will take place in Primiero-San Martino di Castrozza, organised by Pedali di Marca. The announcement came during the 191st UCI Congress in Wollongong, Australia.

The World Championship will also be open to all Master categories, which will be able to compete on the same course as the big ones, namely that of the famous Mythos Primiero Dolomiti, the day after the Elite. The 12 Master titles will then be awarded on Sunday, 13 September 2026, while the international Marathon bigwigs will do battle on Saturday, 12 September 2026. Never before have MTB Marathon amateurs had the opportunity to share a world experience with the greats of the discipline. After an absence of two years, the World Master's Championship is back, thanks to the initiative of the Pedali di Marca organisers, who obtained the green light from the UCI for this extraordinary opening.
