Water sports in South Tyrol are popular, especially in the Passo Resia holiday area in Alta Val Venosta. Here, the two lakes of the area, Lake Resia and Lake San Valentino, surrounded by the white massif of Ortles, offer optimal conditions for kite-surfing, sailing, and surfing: the constant wind makes these pools of water a paradise for water sport enthusiasts.
Lake Resia, with its submerged bell tower and its position exposed to the wind, attracts more and more surfers and sailing enthusiasts who can navigate sparkling waters in complete tranquility, surrounded by a unique panorama: 6 kilometers long and 1 kilometer wide of unique fun!
For several years now regattas have been held on the lake, including the Regatta del Campanile of Lake Resia. On the beach by the lake there is also the sailing association of Alta Venosta which organizes classes for beginners during the summer season.
On Lake Resa you can also take boat trips, from mid-July to October (lake conditions permitting): it's a great experience to get to know the landscape and local culture. Aboard the MS Hubertus Interregio you'll listen to the history of the towns of Curon, Resia, and Arlundo, all submerged by the lake's waters.
