The Belluno area is located in the upper part of the Veneto region, a purely mountainous area with important Dolomite groups within it, most of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The area can be reached by car, train, bus and plane with a transfer service.
Getting there by car and camper
The province of Belluno can be reached from Treviso, Conegliano, Padua and Venice by taking the A27 Venezia-Belluno motorway. Once you are in the province near Santa Croce Lake in Alpago, you can take the first exit, the one for Belluno, to reach some places like Feltre along the SS50 or the SP1 Sinistra Piave road; Agordo, Alleghe, Marmolada, Arabba, Selva di Cadore along the SR203 and SR204 roads. The second and last exit on the A27 is for Pian di Vedoia, from here you can reach the Alto Bellunese area: once you have arrived at Longarone on the SS51 Alemagna road, turn left for Forno di Zoldo, Zoldo Alto and Selva di Cadore, continuing straight on you will arrive in Cadore with Calalzo, Domegge, Pieve. At Pieve the road branches off: turning left you reach San Vito di Cadore and Cortina d'Ampezzo, turning right you reach Comelico; at Cima Gogna turning left you reach Auronzo di Cadore and Misurina.

Getting there by train
There are two main railway lines serving the province, the Venezia-Mestre-Ponte nelle Alpi-Calalzo and the Padua-Calalzo, via Castelfranco, Montebelluna and Feltre. The main stations are Feltre, Belluno and Calalzo. Once in Calalzo, there are taxis and buses to Cortina and other towns in the upper Belluno area.
Getting there by plane
The nearest convenient airport to the Belluno area is Antonio Canova in Treviso (85 km from Belluno), then Marco Polo in Venice (111 km), Bolzano (120 km), Ronchi dei Legionari in Trieste (159 km) and Verona (216 km). Belluno has a small tourist airport.
Getting there by bus
The province is served by Dolomitibus buses, which also provide connections with the provinces of Treviso (Vittorio Veneto and Conegliano), Trento, Vicenza (Primolano) and Bolzano (Corvara). In summer there are also connections with Lido di Jesolo and Venice.
There are also other public and non-public service companies that provide transport services, such as Trentino Trasporti Spa, which connects Trento, Fiera di Primiero and Feltre, Moena with Falcade; SAD, which connects Cortina with Misurina and Dobbiaco.
ATVO Spa covers the Venice-Treviso-Cortina route by compulsory reservation, while during the summer season Autostradale Spa connects Milan with Cortina by compulsory reservation. Cortina Express provides transport from Venice Marco Polo airport to Cortina and from Bologna-Ferrara-Rovigo.
