Holidays in Perca on Plan de Corones to discover the earth pyramids

4 km from Brunico, in the Plan de Corones tourist region, lies the South Tyrolean municipality of Perca, which extends from the Rienza meadows to the three thousand meter peaks of the Vedrette di Ries, in the Vedrette di Ries - Aurina Nature Park.

The real attraction are the Earth Pyramids near Plata, which together with those of Renon, are considered one of the most beautiful natural monuments in South Tyrol. A beautiful 45 minute hike departing from the Plata car park leads to these natural wonders.

A well-known tourist destination in winter and in summer, a paradise for skiers and hikers who, thanks to the proximity of the cable car, located near the Perca train station, can quickly reach the ski resorts of Plan de Corones, the number one ski area in Alto Adige which, during the summer, turns into a dense network of trails.

For cyclists, the town is crossed by the 110 km long Val Pusteria cycle path that connects Fortezza with Lienz and has various access points. More challenging routes for mountain bikers wind around the area. For those looking for an adrenaline rush, there are 6 free ride tracks for bikers.

For cross-country skiing enthusiasts, the Plan de Corones area is part of the longest cross-country carousel in Europe, the Dolomiti Nordic Ski with its 300 km of legendary slopes.

There is no shortage of fun tobogganing too for the little ones and exciting snowshoeing immersed in the silence of the snowy woods.
