Monte Corno Nature Park/Trodena: holidays on foot
Peace and quiet, paths, breathtaking hikes, quiet lakes, larch woods hosting different animal species... This is not the beginning of a fairy tale, we are talking about the Monte Corno Nature Park, including the hamlets of Trodena, Anterivo, San Lugano, Egna, Montagna and Salorno.
A real paradise for summer hikes and an excellent starting point for snowshoe walks, downhill run, cross-country skiing, and to reach the near Val di Fiemme/Obereggen ski area. Forests and meadows, dotted with shepherd's huts and small villages... are you ready to wear your rucksack and discover one of the areas with the richest flora and fauna in South Tyrol? Coppicing forests alternate with pine woods, mosses and larch woods, crossed by well-marked paths starting from different spots: Salorno, S. Lugano, Anterivo or Trodena, hosting the visitor's center of the park in the restored old mill. In the environs, in the municipalities of Redagno and Aldino, there is also Rio Bletterbach: a real canyon which can be gone through on foot, and is particularly interesting because of the fossils it presents. A beautiful (but quite difficult!) bike tour leads from Egna to Monte Corno, going through Trodena.
In Trodena - lying on the northern part of val dei Molini, surrounded by the mounts Cucul and Kalmegg, you should visit the 600-year-old linden. There are also a natural path, a practice wall and tennis courts to keep fit.
