The little church of St. Prokulus in Naturno with the adjoining museum is considered one of Europe's important art treasures. Inside you can admire extraordinary frescoes from the pre-Romanesque period.
In 2006, the St. Prokulus Museum opened its doors as an addition to the St. Prokulus Church. The museum tour runs through the eras of Late Antiquity, the High and Late Middle Ages and the Thirty Years' War. Short films and archaeological finds from Naturno illustrate the period. Graves from the typhus period of the 17th century clearly show the ferocity with which the disease ravaged the local population and devastated entire areas of the village.
The museum also contains Gothic frescoes, which had covered the pre-Romanesque frescoes in the small church, and an anthropological section dedicated to the study of bones.
