Trekking to Limides lake is a route suitable for everyone. Thanks to the large car park you can arrive by car directly at the Col Gallina Hut (2055 metres above sea level), in the direction of the Falzarego Pass. Follow path 419 towards Forcella Averau to reach the small lake. Climb up through a forest of larch and stone pine trees and in about an hour's walk you will reach Limides. The Averau, Sasso di Stria, Lagazuoi and Tofana di Rozes mountains are reflected in its waters.
The Col Gallina Hut offers many activities, suitable for young and old. For children, all around the refuge there is a green meadow equipped with a playground, where they can have fun in complete safety with inflatables, swings and slides. From the panoramic terrace you can enjoy a view of the main peaks of the Dolomites: to the north the Lagazuoi rises up austere alongside the majestic Tofane group, to the south Cima Gallina and Croda Negra dominate the hut, revealing the panorama towards Averau, Nuvolau and Cinque Torri.
