This circular route is characterized by a unique landscape. The trail is quite difficult due to the frozen ground and to the possibility of ice fallings, thus it is advisable to take with you crampons, ice axe and climbing equipment.
To reach the starting point of the trail take the SS51 Alemagna road from Cortina in the direction of Fiammes. Shortly after you have passed this village, leave the car in the park on your left. From the car park, the trail goes downhill in direction south-west. Cross a cross-country skiing trail and reach the chalet of Pian de Loa. Follow directions to the "Fanes Waterfall" and reach the panoramic point from where you can admire it.
The second part of the tour is more difficult and goes downhill towards the stream through a steep narrow trail. Go up the stream until you arrive under the waterfall, through a cleavage in the rock surrounded by ice: a marvelous sight to behold.
After this quite technical stretch, walk on the ledge taking to the other side of the cliff and to the second panoramic point. From here go downhill towards the Val di Fanes valley and at Pian de Loa go back through the same trail of the beginning.
