From the top station of the Monte Cavallo cable car (1860m), follow trail no. 23 (Alta Via di Ridanna) along the alpine road in a south-westerly direction. Slightly uphill, you reach the turnoff to trail no. 23 on the right (1912m, signs). Uphill, following the trail tracks along the steep grassy slope on the south side, you reach the ridge of the mountain at the Ochsenscharte pass. Climb up the eastern slope to the first Telves peak (2565 m). Descend via a chimney to the fork (fixed rope) and follow the path over steep terrain (handrail) to the Telves summit (2588m). Descent via the ascent route.
Variant: Back at the Ochsenscharte (2178m) follow trail no. 24b downhill to the northeast to the Vallming alpine hut (1814m, rest stop). Here take alpine road no. 19a in an easterly direction, passing the Kastellacke biotope (1930m) back to the cable car station.
