The Auronzo Misurina cycle path runs for 30 km and connects Lake Auronzo with Lake Misurina. Surrounded by some of the most spectacular Dolomite mountains, such as the Croda dei Toni, the Cadini, the Marmarole, the Sorapìss, the Cristallo and, of course, the Tre Cime, it initially runs alongside the Ansiei river and, for a short stretch, the provincial road 49 that connects Auronzo with Misurina, before plunging into the forest. The itinerary crosses points of great natural interest such as the Somadida Forest, a protected area managed by the Carabinieri Forestry Corps, and the Valbona plain, owned by the Regole d'Ampezzo.
The section from Auronzo to Palùs San Marco (approx. 15 km) is suitable for everyone, with an elevation gain of only 250 metres, while the section from Palùs San Marco up to Misurina is more challenging, with an elevation gain of 650 metres. On the descent, the first part requires even minimal riding experience, while the second is very smooth.
The two main access points of the cycle path are the car park at Lake Auronzo and the one at the Monte Agudo ski lifts. After the Auronzo ski lifts, continuing along provincial road 49 in the direction of Misurina, there are other car parks, from which it is possible to access the route, which is well signposted and equipped with rest areas.
