Pino mugo trail
The starting point is the "Saltnerstein" car park at the Gasserhütte hut (1,744 m). From there, follow trail no. 6/15 uphill towards Mair in Plun. Turn right at the first crossroads after the dam and follow trail no. 24 to the Am Rinderplatz hut (1,799 m).
Continue on trail no. 23 to forest road no. 15, then follow the signs "Laschenweg - Sentiero Pino Mugo". The trail then leads northwards to Mair in Plun (1,860m) and shortly afterwards branches off to the left to the Marzuner Schupfe hut (1,933m). Return to the starting point along forest road no. 6/15.
The Marzuner Schupfe hut has a mountain pine distillery, which can be visited.
Plum trail
The Barbiano plum path takes its name from the plum trees that can be seen along the walk. The best period is when they are in bloom, in April and May. Start in the centre of Barbian and follow the Plum Trail/Zwetschkenweg in the direction of Unterdorf, passing the Feltuner farmstead to the weather cross (Wetterkreuz). Continue uphill to the Stich and Frühaufhof farms and then cross the road. At the Urban house, continue uphill to the fork in the road. Turn right and continue through Oberdorf back to the centre. This is a family-friendly 4km route that takes 2 hours.
Wine hiking trail
Start at the Klausen swimming pool and follow the main road to the crossroads leading to Feldthurns/Velturno. Follow the signs for the wine hiking trail/Weinwanderweg, initially along the road, then through the Leitach vineyards and various wine estates to the Hienghof farm. From here you return to the swimming pool.
Chestnut trail from Novacella to Bolzano
Four stages:
- from Novacella to Feldthurns
- from Feldthurns/Velturno to Barbian/Barbiano
- from Barbiano to Leitcah/Renon
- from Leitcah/Renon to Castel Roncolo/Bolzano
Birmhel trail
The route starts at the village square in Verdignes, descends to the hamlet of Pradello, then climbs up to the Moar zu Viersch farm in the countryside and returns to the starting point on an old paved path. Duration: 1.5 hours.
