Col Margherita in the San Pellegrino Ski Area at an altitude of 2514 metres, on the border between Veneto and Trentino, is getting more beautiful. During the 2019/2020 ski season, a new mountain hut called InAlto was inaugurated. It is in fact located high up at the mountain station of the Col Margherita cable car.
The structure, consisting of large windows and a panoramic terrace on the Dolomites, was integrated by recovering the existing one and made less impactful and more integrated with the surrounding landscape.
In addition to hot food and drinks, the restaurant offers a breathtaking view that sweeps from the south face of the Marmolada to Pelmo Mount, from the majesty of the Civetta to the Pale di San Martino.
Hut al Col Margherita is the starting point for skiers, hikers, bikers and all mountain lovers.
In winter, the beautiful black slope La VolatA starts here with 630 metres of difference in height and walls of almost 50% gradient, but there are also red slopes and the connection with the slopes of the Falcade ski area. Those who love to ski while enjoying the mountains can let themselves be carried away by the lovers' slope, an itinerary through woods and wooden huts that shows the beauty of the Marmolada and the Cime del Facobon.
In summer, InAlto is at the heart of the San Pellegrino Bike Trail with its three single trails and two flow trails.
A short walk takes you to Col Margherita Park, a theme park that tells the story of the history and formation of the Dolomites.
The summer/winter opening of the hut coincides with that of the San Pellegrino Ski Area lifts.
