Trentino offers countless agricultural and farming products thanks to two microclimates: the Mediterranean climate in the area of Lake Garda, and the typical Alpine climate, to discover along the seven Wine and Flavors Routes of Trentino. Many are the local dishes holding ancient traditions of the Veneto and Central European culture. Amongst the most renowned products of Trentino there are of course the apples, the Trentingrana cheese and the extra-virgin olive oil of Garda Trentino, all PDO products.
Trentino offers a large variety of cheeses like the Spressa delle Giudicarie (PDO), the famous Puzzone di Moena and the Vezzena, included in the Slow Food Movement, or the typical Tosela del Primiero. There are also many cold cuts and salami: the lucanica trentino, the mortadella of the Val di Non valley, the ciuìga of Banale, and salted meat, a famous specialty of Trentino. There are also the potatoes, cabbages and asparaguses produced in the Val di Gresta valley, common side dishes served in the restaurants together with a good slice of Valsugana or Storo polenta. Among the most delicious second courses there is surely the tasty rabbit meat with polenta.
You can't leave Trentino without a taste of the excellent wines and spirits. Among the most renowned there is TRENTODOC, produced with the traditional method, the Nosiola, the Vino Santo, the Marzemino, the Teroldego, the Trentino PDO Müller Thurgau and the Trentino Grappa. Not to miss also the Fravort Fresh Beer, typical beer of the Valsugana valley.
