The reputation of hotels in ski resorts is becoming increasingly decisive, especially in view of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. This international event represents a unique opportunity to enhance the Alpine tourist offer and improve the quality of services. In an increasingly competitive market, hotels must guarantee high standards to attract and retain tourists, not only for the Olympic Games but also for long-term success.
The Reputation Barometer: a tool for the hotel industry
To meet this need, Italia Hospitality has developed the Reputation Barometer, an innovative analysis tool that assesses the perceived quality of accommodation facilities through the analysis of online reviews. Thanks to the collaboration with TrustYou, a world leader in digital reputation management, the Barometer collects and examines the reviews published on platforms such as Booking.com, Google, TripAdvisor and Expedia, providing a score from 0 to 100 that summarises the overall quality of each establishment.
Research data: excellences and criticalities
The study analysed 50,000 reviews of 300 top hotels in Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto, evaluating key aspects such as comfort, sustainability, value for money and services offered.
The excellences in Trentino-South Tyrol
Comfort: Plan de Corones (83 points) and Val Gardena (81) lead the ranking, followed by Madonna di Campiglio (78).
Guest services: San Martino di Castrozza excels with 97 points, followed by Alta Badia (95).
Sustainability: Madonna di Campiglio stands out with a score of 94, confirming Trentino's attention to environmental issues.
Gastronomic offer: Tesero is in the lead with 95 points, followed by San Martino di Castrozza and Alta Badia (92).
Value for money: Val Gardena (77) and Plan de Corones (75) show above average performance.
Cortina d'Ampezzo: between strengths and weaknesses
In Veneto, the situation is more complex. Cortina d'Ampezzo, one of the main venues for the 2026 Olympics, stands out for its hospitality (91 points), but presents criticalities in comfort (46 points) and value for money (48 points), raising doubts about its preparedness to receive the influx of tourists expected for the Games.
