The Giro d'Italia Women will return in 2025 with its load of emotions, and Trentino will once again be the protagonist of two extraordinary stages that will highlight the natural beauty, scenic variety, and technical difficulty of the area. From 6 to 13 July, cyclists will compete along routes that cross mountains, valleys and vineyards, offering spectacle and suspense right up to the last metres. Start Bergamo and finish Imola.
Stage 3: Vezza d'Oglio - Trento (8 July 2025)
The first stage in Trentino of the Giro is a true celebration of Alpine scenic variety. It starts in Vezza d'Oglio with an immediately demanding challenge: the climb to the Passo del Tonale, which represents the Cima Alfonsina Strada, the highest point of this edition. After conquering this climb, the athletes will plunge into a long and technical descent through Val di Sole and Val di Non, passing through places such as Vermiglio, Dimaro, Malè and Cles.
The second part of the route is characterised by gentle undulations and unique views through the vineyards of Mezzolombardo and Mezzocorona, before crossing the Adige River and heading straight for Trento. This stage represents an extraordinary opportunity for the sprinters, with a finish that promises excitement in a breathtaking sprint through the heart of Trento.
Stage 4: Castello Tesino - Pianezze (Valdobbiadene) (9 July 2025)
The following day, the athletes will tackle a completely different, but no less demanding stage. From Castello Tesino, the route descends towards Val Cismon, skimming past Feltre and following the base of the Belluno Dolomites to Belluno. Here, Nevegal is the setting for a technical section, with continuous ups and downs that will test both the teams' physical endurance and strategy.
After leaving the picturesque Lake of Santa Croce and crossing Vittorio Veneto, the cyclists will tackle the famous Muro di Ca' del Poggio, a short but very tough section that crosses the UNESCO territories of Prosecco. Finally, the challenge ends with an epic climb: the 11.2 km at 7% gradient towards Pianezze, where the first big differences in the general classification will be determined.
