From 6 to 22 February, the Winter Olympics will return to Italy, to the fabulous Cortina d'Ampezzo and the UNESCO Dolomites. This is the third time that Italy will host a Winter Olympics (after Cortina d'Ampezzo 1956 and Turin 2006), the fourth considering also the Rome 1960 Summer Games.
The Paralympics will take place from 6 to 15 March. The Cortina 2026 edition is the second Paralympics in Italy after Turin 2006.
Once again, Cortina d'Ampezzo and the Dolomites are confirmed as the perfect location for high-level winter sports. There are several locations, besides Cortina, where the competitions will take place: Anterselva, Tesero and Predazzo.
Cortina d'Ampezzo will host the women's alpine skiing and Paralympic skiing competitions on the Olimpia slope of the Tofane, the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton competitions on the Eugenio Monti slope in the new Sliding Centre, and the curling and wheelchair curling competitions at the renovated Olympic Ice Stadium. The Cortina Snowboard Park, inside the Tofane ski area, in Socrepes on the historic San Zan slope, will be the stage for the Paralympic snowboard athletes. Cortina will also host the closing ceremony of the Paralympics.
Anterselva, in the province of Bolzano, will host the biathlon competitions, while in the province of Trento, Tesero will host the Paralympic cross-country and cross-country skiing, Nordic combined and Paralympic biathlon competitions. Predazzo, on the other hand, will be the venue for ski jumping.
