From 6 to 22 February, the Winter Olympics will return to Italy, to the fabulous Cortina d'Ampezzo and the UNESCO Dolomites. This is the third time that Italy will host a Winter Olympics (after Cortina d'Ampezzo 1956 and Turin 2006), the fourth considering also the Rome 1960 Summer Games.
The Paralympics will take place from 6 to 15 March. The Cortina 2026 edition is the second Paralympics in Italy after Turin 2006.
Once again, Cortina d'Ampezzo and the Dolomites are confirmed as the perfect location for high-level winter sports. There are several locations, besides Cortina, where the competitions will take place: Anterselva, Baselga di Pinè, Tesero and Predazzo.
Cortina d'Ampezzo will host the women's alpine skiing competitions on the Olimpia slope of the Tofane, the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton competitions on the Eugenio Monti slope, while the Olympic Ice Stadium, which will be renovated, will host the curling competitions.
Anterselva, in the province of Bolzano, will host the biathlon competitions, while in the province of Trento, speed skating competitions will be held in Baselga di Pinè; cross-country skiing, Nordic combined and ski jumping in Tesero and Predazzo.
