Canazei, capital of ski and international events

Canazei is the ski capital of Val di Fassa. Thanks to its position near the most famous passes of the Dolomites, it is a favourite destination for those who love winter sports. Famous for its events, like the Sellaronda Skimarathon, for its colorful houses and the lively nightlife, it offers lots of activities for your holidays.

From the town center you can easily reach the Sellaronda ski tour and 4 ski areas included in the Dolomiti Superski resort: Belvedere, Ciampac, Col Rodella and Marmolada, a guarantee of endless fun for those who love exciting and sometimes difficult descents and for those who want to dart down the slopes with a snowboard under their feet. A well equipped kindergarten will take care of your children. Cross-country skiing lovers have at their disposal perfect trails of every level and altitude: the highest trail is in fact at 2100 m on the Ciampac. You can of course go for a pleasant walk and practice ski mountaineering and every winter sport you can think of. In the evenings you can choose among a wide selection of après ski pubs and bars to entertain yourself until late at night.

Canazei, with the administrative divisions of Gries, Alba and Penia, is famous also for international events like the Sellaronda Skimarathon, a ski mountaineering competition, and the Dolomites Skyrace, a sky running competition. There are also more typical events recalling the ancient Ladin culture, like Te anter i tobiè and the Gran Festa d'Istà, when you can admire the typical barns, costumes and music of this valley.

Lying at the foot of the most famous passes - Pordoi, Sella and Fedaia - in a wonderful valley, in summer Canazei is a starting point for high altitude hikes, walks along the streets of the town center admiring the colorful frescoed houses, or along the streets connecting Canazei with the other villages of the valley. There are also mountain bike tours following the routes of great cyclists or along the Giro dei Passi route.
