Highlights
Timeless elegance: immersed in art in the historic center of Bolzano
Behind the doors of Laurin, the perfect blend of art and culture, timeless charm and a unique and fascinating history distinguish this jewel of the Liberty style. It is a real meeting place for both Bolzanites and guests of the hotel, with refined and timeless elegance, where art, culture, and events coexist. A unique experience to live, a rare opportunity to enjoy every single moment of this lifestyle through the numerous cultural and musical initiatives organized inside it, such as vintage car rallies, "All that music ..!" Friday night and Long Cocktails on Thursday.
The Parkhotel Laurin contains a collection of about 200 original works from the 20th century by local and international artists, following an artistic itinerary that starts with the Liberty style, touches upon impressionism and expressionism, and finishes with the current style known as “Neue Sachlichkeit". Examples of this rare beauty are the 1911 Bruno Goldschmitt frescoes in the Laurin Bar that tell the story of the legend of King Laurino; an artistic marvel in Liberty style that has become a main attraction in the city and is the subject of many guided tours. Additionally within each of the hundred rooms and the secular park lie works of art. The walls of the Laurin Restaurant were repainted by the artist Marilù Eustachio with his work "Trees in sequence," inspired by the diverse trees in the park. It is a precious cultural and artistic treasure to be discovered and lived.
Parkhotel Laurin
The Parkhotel Laurin, in the heart of Bolzano's historic center, is within walking distance of Piazza Walther and the Duomo, surrounded by a wonderful 4,000 square meter secular park. Built in 1910, Parkhotel Laurin is characterized by impeccable service and love for detail. Immersed in the original Liberty atmosphere, the vivacity of the present day is lived through the presence of numerous art installations that make it a true art jewel. It’s a point of reference and a meeting place for both tourists and hotel guests, where numerous cultural and musical initiatives take place.
The hotel in the heart of Bolzano
The historical and artistic structure is only 50 meters from the Bolzano railway station and only a few meters from three cable cars that take you, in just 10 minutes, from the city center to over 1,000 meters of altitude and beautiful scenic locations (the Renon Cable Car at 750 meters, the San Genesio Cable Car at about 3 km, and the Colle cable car at 2 km).
In the South Tyrolean capital, lovers of art and culture, and sports and shopping meet. An attractive multicultural city that has a lot to offer in all seasons: shopping, castles and museums, musical events, theaters, or hiking or biking in the summer. Bolzano, known as the "Doorway to the Dolomites", is also the access point for some of the most beautiful ski resorts in the Dolomites.
Timeless elegance: Bolzano’s historic hotel
The hotel, owned by three generations of the Staffler family, was restored between 1990 and 1998 by architects Boris Podrecca and Albert Mascotti. Franz Staffler, the third generation owner, an aficionado of the figurative arts, decided to embellish each of the 100 rooms with twentieth-century artwork. The hotel now has 200 works of art from the twentieth century displayed in the rooms, in the bar, in the halls, and in the park.
Prestigious rooms
The luxurious rooms, including 8 singles and 7 junior suites, are furnished in three different styles (antique cherry, new cherry wood, and lacquered white) and decorated with artwork, precious furniture made by the family carpentry shop and modern marble bathrooms. Upon request you can stay in one of the 7 suites.
Where flavours encounter luxury
In the Art Nouveau Restaurant Laurin, Chef Manuel Astuto delights guests’ palates with dishes where Mediterranean and alpine flavors find perfect synthesis, accompanied by a refined selection of 600 regional and international wines. In the summer months, the open-plan restaurant opens in the park for lunch and dinner.
For a culinary experience at the highest level, the Glasshouse at the Parkhotel Laurin, an exclusive location in the heart of Bolzano, created from an old greenhouse and surrounded by centuries-old trees in the park, welcomes its guests to the new ConTanima restaurant. Its philosophy is based on the search for one's roots, simplicity, innovation and appreciation of one's own territory.
The Laurin Bar, also known as the Bolzano Lounge, is also open to those who do not stay at the hotel, and is the city's most popular meeting point for breakfast, a quick lunch, a cocktail or nightcap. The frescoes, which today are a destination of guided tours of the city, were created by Bruno Goldschmitt in 1911, and represent the fascinating legend of King Laurino.
Two unforgettable anniversaries are renewed each year and have defined the city's lifestyle: the "All That Music ...!" on Friday night, from May to October, dedicated to concerts by national and international artists, and Thursday’s Long Cocktails with a DJ set. The bar has also become one of the most important jazz clubs in northern Italy. From May to October, in the Summer Lounge, guests can enjoy sparkling cocktails, most famously the Laurin Spritz, exquisite appetizers, finger foods, and delicious snacks.
Oasis of relaxation: the park in center city
The charming secular park of the hotel with exotic and indigenous plants, such as the rose of Meran (the highest growing rose in Europe at 26 meters) and the Tree of Judas and Gingko Biloba, bear witness to the botanical vocation of Bolzano. A green oasis in the center of the city, perfect for relaxing walks between secular cedars and the artwork that animates it. Inside there is a heated swimming pool, open from May to October, for the exclusive use of hotel guests, a playground, and a fitness area.
New from May: outdoor pool with whirlpool
The hotel also specializes in organizing vintage car rides.
Facilities: conference center and banquet facilities with the most modern technological equipment and Wi-Fi, bike rentals and servicing, and information desk. At Laurin there is a new exclusive venue for meetings, reunions or weddings which is built form an ancient greenhouse, once used as a fitness room and Christmas bistro: La Casa di Vetro, with a view of the rose garden.
