The BOclassic South Tyrol, one of the most prestigious New Year's Eve races in the world, celebrates an important milestone this year: on 31 December 2024 it will celebrate its 50th edition. The circular route in the heart of Bolzano will see the start and finish at Piazza Walther, a meeting point for athletes and running enthusiasts.
In 50 days, the BOclassic will once again involve top international athletes. Nadia Battocletti from Trento, the reigning champion and fresh from a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Paris, has already declared herself ready to compete after the European Cross Championships in Antalya. Nor will Yeman Crippa, European marathon champion and crowd favourite, be ready to challenge the South Tyrolean course.
The race offers various opportunities to participate: from the 8 laps for men and the 4 laps for women of the Elite competition, to the non-competitive trials for amateurs and young people. The start of the BOclassic will be at 3 p.m., while the ‘Just for Fun’ race and the Ladurner amateur race will allow everyone to experience the atmosphere.
Those who cannot be in Bolzano on New Year's Eve will be able to watch the Elite competitions on TV. The races will be broadcast live by RAI Südtirol and live streaming on RaiPlay. Rai will also broadcast the races on national television , but on a deferred basis.
