Alta Badia is preparing to be the stage for the Ski World Cup, from 21 to 23 December, with the 39th edition of the historic race on the Gran Risa slope, one of the most spectacular in the White Circus. This year, ski fans will be able to watch two exciting men's races: the giant slalom on 22 December and the special slalom on 23 December. A unique opportunity to see the best skiers in the world compete on a technically challenging course, enhanced by the breathtaking curves of the Gran Risa.
As a backdrop to this great competition, there is also important news for ski and mountain enthusiasts. The new Braia Fraida lift was recently inaugurated, a modern 6-seater chairlift that improves the connection between Corvara and La Villa, significantly reducing travel time. Thanks to an investment of around 11 million euro, the chairlift offers maximum comfort and safety, with technological innovations such as a direct drive motor to reduce consumption and anatomical seats for greater comfort.
To coincide with the World Cup, Movimënt's Test the Best is also back, on 22 and 23 December, where fans will be able to try out the best ski equipment for the 2024/2025 winter season. The test village, located in La Villa, will welcome the main ski and sportswear brands, also offering valuable advice from Alta Badia's most qualified ski instructors. Admission is free, and it is an unmissable opportunity for those who want to discover the latest in technology and sportswear.
Alta Badia doesn't stop at the World Cup: on 23 December, the lifts will open early at 7.15 a.m. for the SunRisa, an exciting sunrise ski run on the still virgin slopes, a unique experience that allows you to enjoy the first tracks of the day and a breathtaking view of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. Movimënt's refuges will open early to offer healthy breakfasts based on local products, and visitors will be able to take advantage of the 130 km of slopes and the numerous fun parks such as the Alta Badia Snowpark, the Funslope at Biok, and the Funcross for the youngest.
In addition, Movimënt offers a season full of events, experiences and appointments. Highlights include the Sommelier on the Slope, which offers six appointments with tastings of South Tyrolean wines between January and April, and the Vintage Party, which will close the season with a plunge into the 70s and 80s. Lovers of unique experiences will also be able to take part in sunrise skiing, snowcat rides and tobogganing down the illuminated slope, with special events such as the Carnival tobogganing.
Alta Badia is ready to offer an incredible winter season, where sport, nature, culture and gastronomy come together to offer a unique experience for young and old.
